"IF EDWARD GOREY DID ZAP! COMIX, WHAT YOU'D GET IS MIKE KONEFUL!" - WILLIAM LAUGHLIN, COMICZONE

Working as a cartoonist since the mid-90's, Mike Koneful started his career as artist on FLESHEATER, created by lead NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD zombie Bill Hinzman. He has since been asked to illustrate an uncountable amount of cartoon zombies.
Mike has maintained a decades-long collaboration with CRY FOR DAWN co-creator Joseph Monks. The duo have colluded on everything from A to Z (literally: AGONY IN BLACK to ZACHERLEY'S MIDNITE TERRORS), including their successful (albeit short-lived) series GORY LORI. Aside from comic and book art, Mike does art for a local roller derby league and former MISFITS singer MICHALE GRAVES.
His work has appeared in numerous magazines and on SVENGOOLIE. He cites Dick Briefer's 1940's & 50's FRANKENSTEIN comics as his biggest influence for contributing exclusively to 'monster' comics. His other major artistic influences are EC, Charles Addams, Bob Powell and Fredric Wertham.
